Like many great business ideas, Bernard’s Barrel’s began as the dream of a man who was passionate about DIY and good quality handmade furniture.
In November 2013 Bernard Mas took the plunge and set up his own business doing what he loved. He started off in a friend’s garage but by April 2014 he needed more space and so he decided to open his shop on Station Road in Yate.
Now five years down the line, he is celebrating his fifth year of being in business. Bernard uses oak French wine barrels to make furniture ranging from wine racks, cabinets and garden features to bespoke gifts. If you can’t see a product you like, he will design one especially for you. Bernard also hires out barrels for weddings and other events.
Recently, Bernard created the furniture for Brook’s Bar and Kitchen which opened in Chipping Sodbury earlier this year.
